Transcripts differ slightly from the published version of 1799. Note by W.H. Ireland, dated 20 February, 1824 reads: "Transcripts of Vortigern and annotations by my father, Mr. Samuel Ireland, the first ms. being in his hand, the second from the pen of my sister, Jane, and the third by my mother.
